Steve Francis is an expert in the complexities of school leadership. As well as having been the Principal of a number of Queensland schools from a one-teacher school through to a large metropolitan school, he was Principal of an international school in Hong Kong. He understands the challenges and demands of being a school leader. To support busy school leadership teams to get clear and aligned, Steve developed School Leadership Sprints.

Steve completed his Masters in School Leadership focusing on stress in schools. This led him to develop the Happy School program. Almost 700 schools subscribe to receive Steve’s weekly articles and use them to improve staff well-being. This year he launched his Early Career Teacher Well-being program.

For the past five years Steve has been recognised by Educator magazine as one of the top 50 most influential educators in Australia.

Steve works with leading educators across Australia and New Zealand to help them reach their potential and optimise their schools.

Bryan Jeffrey started his Psychiatric Nursing career in 1995 in Scotland, specialising in working with young people in ‘out of home care’ settings. Now with over 30 years of clinical experience in the field, he shares his learnings, clinical skills and stories with audiences to assist others in understanding those often forgotten and misunderstood young people, who are most deserving of our care and support. As Director of MOAT: Mental Health Services, Bryan presents at conferences, delivers a range of mental health related training sessions for staff groups, and provides classroom consultancy services for schools looking to increase their capacity to support students.

Cameron Peverett is an experienced teacher and school principal. He holds a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Primary), a Master of Education (Special Educational Needs) from Deakin University and a Master of Instructional Leadership from the University of Melbourne.

Cameron has worked in special education since 2005 and became a principal in 2012. He is currently the principal of Colac Specialist School and was previously the principal of Hamilton Parklands School, formally Hamilton Special Developmental School. Amongst his many roles, Cameron is the President of the Principals’ Association of Specialist Schools (PASS) in Victoria and has represented Victoria on the Australian Special Education Principals’ Association (ASEPA) Board.

Cameron is most proud in being able to make a difference to the educational and employment outcomes of the students in his current role at Colac Specialist School in country Victoria.

Sam Silverwood has worked in Special Education for 19 years. He spent 17 years at Emerson School as a teacher, middle level leader and Assistant Principal before joining Eastern Ranges School as Principal in 2023. He has been a member of PASS for 7 years and a member of the PASS board for the last 3 years. He has represented PASS on a number of advisory groups including the Child Information Sharing Scheme, Initial Teacher Education and the Victorian Pathways Certificate.
