Katie Robinson is a lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Newcastle, with a teaching background in Physical Education and Mathematics. She completed her PhD in 2024, investigating the effects of classroom based resistance training on adolescent cognition.

Katie’s work focuses on helping teachers activate their classrooms through practical, research-informed strategies that reduce sedentary time and support student engagement. She is continuing to work on her program - Strength in Numbers, which integrates numeracy content with classroom-based resistance exercises.

Her research and professional learning sessions support educators in aligning movement in the classroom with syllabus outcomes, with the goal of improving both learning and on task behviour through movement.
