Biography
Olivia Derndorfer is a passionate Physical Education teacher, Sports Coordinator at Montrose Primary School, and Montrose District School Sport Coordinator. With extensive experience leading whole-school physical activity initiatives and coordinating interschool sport across eight primary schools, Olivia is committed to creating engaging, inclusive, and meaningful sporting experiences for all students.

Known for her practical approach and strong organisational skills, Olivia has developed and delivered a wide range of successful programs, including whole-school athletics and cross country events, Jump Rope for Heart, Olympic and Commonwealth Games-themed school events, representative sport pathways, and district-level competitions. She is passionate about helping schools build positive sporting cultures that maximise participation, foster student engagement, and create opportunities for every child to experience success.

Prior to teaching, Olivia was an elite swimmer and spent many years working in aquatic education and program coordination at Camberwell Grammar Aquatic. Her background in elite sport, combined with her experience as an educator and school sport leader, provides a unique perspective on developing lifelong participation in physical activity.

A regular presenter at the ACHPER Conference, Olivia enjoys sharing practical ideas and systems that support teachers to deliver high-quality physical education and school sport programs. Her presentations focus on translating real-world experience into strategies that educators can confidently implement within their own school communities.
