AFL Victoria will present a dynamic and practical session exploring how AFL School programs and resources can transform student engagement and connect learning with community pathways. Aimed at educators working with Years 5–12 in primary settings, "CONNECT" will showcase what high-quality AFL delivery looks like in action, on the oval and in the classroom.
Participants will see how AFL can be used as a tool to promote physical literacy, helping students develop movement competence and confidence that support lifelong participation. From lunchtime kick-to-kicks to structured after school programs like Auskick and Superkick, this session will show how school-based experiences can bridge the gap to community sport.
Attendees will also be exposed to our ready-to-use, cross-curricular resources designed to support whole-school needs in literacy, numeracy and beyond. Whether your school has limited PE time or you’re looking to integrate more active learning into the curriculum, AFL Schools has so much to offer. We’ll guide teachers in mapping local AFL pathways so they can help students and families stay active beyond the school gates. With teacher membership access and a wealth of resources from play.afl, teachers will leave with a toolkit that means they’ll never need to search for footy content again.
This session connects more than just students to the game, it connects schools to communities, teachers to purpose, and students to a lifelong love of being active.
