Day 1: The National Education Forum | Tuesday, March 24


The first day is dedicated to building a shared understanding of the current educational landscape. The program is structured to provide deep insights and foster professional dialogue.


●    Policy, Research and Data Briefings: Engage with cutting-edge research from leading academics and institutions. Sessions will present the latest policy developments, data, and findings on key issues, including principal wellbeing and professional practice, pathways for preparing the next generation of principals, strategies for managing critical incidents, and trends in student agency and achievement. Briefings will be delivered by partners including Monash University, Australian Catholic University, the University of South Australia, the University of New England, and the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL).

●    Principals’ Council: This highly interactive forum, led by school leaders for school leaders, provides a platform for robust discussion and debate on current national policy developments. Participants will share key challenges and opportunities from their own communities and engage directly with senior policymakers, ensuring the voice of school leadership is heard.

●    Summit Preparation: The day will conclude with a brief preparatory session designed to synthesise the key takeaways from the research briefings and council discussions. This session will frame the core themes for Day 2, ensuring all participants are ready to contribute effectively to the policy summit deliberations.

●    Networking Reception: Join us to unwind and connect with colleagues in the stunning National Gallery setting. Relax and enjoy canapés, drinks, and light entertainment while continuing the day's important conversations.
 

 

Day 2: The National Policy Summit | Wednesday, March 25


The second day is a highly collaborative and deliberative event focused on transforming insights into influence. Building on the foundation of Day 1, participants will work together to formulate actionable recommendations for national education reform.


●    Thematic Deliberations: The day is structured around three core themes essential to a world-class education system: Flourishing Students, Strengthening Leadership, and Transforming Systems.

●    Interactive Format: Each thematic session will commence with scene-setting stimulus, followed by focused roundtable discussions. This format allows for every voice to be heard as participants collaboratively analyse challenges and propose solutions.

●    Diverse Expert Panels: Throughout the discussions, the ideas generated will be debated by expert panels. These panels will feature a diverse mix of participants, including practicing principals, distinguished academics, senior government and system officials, and leaders from key national education bodies.

The summit is designed to turn discussion into action. Key outcomes will be consolidated into a definitive Summit Report, establishing the strategic advocacy priorities for public secondary education nationwide
