Biography
Shaun Stewart is the Health and Physical Education Learning Specialist at Mount Ridley P–12 College in Melbourne's north. With experience across both primary and secondary education, Shaun is passionate about creating engaging and inclusive Physical Education programs that empower students to take ownership of their learning. He has led the implementation of Sport Education in Physical Education Program (SEPEP) models across multiple year levels, with a particular focus on developing student leadership, increasing engagement and fostering a sense of belonging through authentic sporting experiences.
Alongside his leadership role in schools, Shaun has taught VCE VET Sport and Recreation for four years, supporting students to develop industry-specific knowledge, practical skills and leadership capabilities through authentic learning experiences. His work has focused on creating meaningful connections between curriculum, sport and future pathways for young people.
Outside of education, Shaun has extensive coaching experience and whereby he currently works within Elite Talent Pathway Programs and was formerly a head coach within an AFL Under 16 Talent League program, working with aspiring athletes in a high-performance environment. Drawing on his experiences across education and community sport, Shaun is passionate about helping educators develop student agency, leadership and engagement through purposeful movement. He is committed to sharing practical, evidence-informed strategies that enable students to thrive both within and beyond the Physical Education classroom.
