Class Break: Transforming Learning One Brain Break at a Time
Session Description
This is not a sit-and-listen session.
This is a hands-on, immersive and highly engaging workshop where participants will experience the power of brain breaks firsthand. Expect to move, connect, laugh, reflect and learn through practical activities that can be immediately transferred back into the classroom.
What if one of the most powerful teaching tools only took a few minutes?
In this highly practical and interactive workshop, the team from The School of Play will explore how purposeful brain breaks can transform student engagement, improve focus, strengthen classroom relationships and support emotional regulation.
Participants will learn the science behind why brain breaks work, including their impact on attention, executive functioning, memory, wellbeing and learning readiness. More importantly, educators will discover how to intentionally select the right activity at the right time, whether students need to energise, connect, regulate, refocus or reset.
This session goes beyond simply having a bank of fun activities. It provides a framework for understanding which "string to pull" in different classroom situations and how strategic play can become a powerful tool for improving learning outcomes and classroom culture.
Attendees will leave with practical, ready-to-use strategies, experience a range of high-impact brain breaks firsthand, and gain access to tools from the Class Break platform that can be implemented immediately in any classroom.
Join The School of Play and discover how a few minutes of purposeful play can create lasting improvements in engagement, connection and learning.
