In 2024 Rowan returned to her hometown to the role Physical Education Teacher at Wangaratta District Specialist School. She launched the school into its first school sport pathway program, resulting in the school winning the School Sport Victoria Multiclass Award of
the Year. The school now has three national para-athletics champions, record holders, and one athlete representing Australia at the Virtus World Athletics Championships, where Rowan serves as a team manager. Before this, Rowan taught in an outreach special needs classroom setting for Henbury School NT from 2019 – 2022, was Head of PE and Activities Coordinator at Straits International School Penang 2016-2018. Between 2011 – 2015 she was Regional School Sport NT Coordinator and started as a neophyte teacher in Maningrida Community Education Centre, Arnhemland, NT between 2004 – 2009. Rowan has presented at ACHPER NT Conferences and acted as board member as a representative for inclusion. Rowan is a Nationally qualified AITSL Lead Teacher. With over 20 years of teaching experience across various settings, Rowan brings a wealth of knowledge to the Physical Education scene and is passionate advocate for the inclusion of all abilities in all settings.
