Biography
Deana is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Australia. Her research draws on interdisciplinary perspectives to critically study health education - from policy formations to their translations into classrooms. This includes a focus on developing models that enable greater participation in designing solutions to health problems (including co-design).
Her recent work includes reviewing the National School Drug Education Principles, Making the Link (a project exploring help seeking strategies regarding mental health and substance use issues in young people) and Seeing through the Haze vaping education in Victoria.
Deana has also contributed to the revision of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and the recently revised VCE Health and Human Development.
