Biography
I’m Belinda Dalziel, Head of Experiential Teaching and Learning at Beaconhills College. I’ve taught VCE Outdoor and Environmental Studies for over fifteen years and have worked in a range of curriculum and assessment roles that support high-quality teaching and learning in our subject. I have also authored a range of textbooks and teaching and learning materials to support teachers and students in Outdoor Education.
At Beaconhills College, I co-lead our Outdoor Education department, Beacon Explorers, from Years Prep to 10, with a strong focus on purposeful experiential learning and building genuine connections to Country. I’ve contributed to sector initiatives and professional learning in Outdoor Education over many years.
I am currently completing postgraduate studies in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives and in Educational Leadership. My work centers on student agency, authentic learning and supporting senior students to become more confident, independent learners. I aim to bring a practical, teacher-focused approach to all professional development, grounded in real classroom and outdoor experience.
