What are students really asking about sex and consent, and what do their questions reveal about the biggest gaps in understanding?
In this session, we unpack some of the most common topics students bring up with our facilitators and their teachers: from understanding how to use consent language, to navigating healthy and unhealthy relationships, porn, alcohol, false accusations, and more. You’ll walk away with practical, evidence-based answers to the questions you’re most likely already being asked, including some you may not have seen coming.
These insights are drawn from the analysis of over 400 anonymous post-it notes submitted by students during Consent Labs’ school programs. Their questions were categorised into key themes, revealing the misconceptions and concerns young people have but often don’t get clear answers to.
This is a session designed to equip educators with language, clarity, and confidence to respond to the real questions students are asking.
Questions We Will Answer:
- Does using consent ruin the mood?
- Why does porn exist?
- What if both people are drunk and they have sex?
- How common are false accusations?
- What do you do if you think your friend is in an unhealthy relationship?
Provide clear, evidence-based answers to common student questions about sex and consent.
Respond to these questions with age-appropriate language and sensitivity, aligned with the RRR curriculum.
