Dr. Shruti R. is an Assistant Professor in Finance, Accounting and Control at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from IIT Madras, where her thesis on stock price crash risk and ownership structure received the IIT Madras Institute Research Award for Research Excellence.

Her research lies at the intersection of corporate finance, accounting, and law and finance, with a primary focus on how ownership structures—particularly promoter holdings and institutional investors—shape stock price crash risk in emerging markets. Her work also examines IFRS outcomes, liquidity, and the informational role of different investor classes.

Her publications appear in leading international journals such as the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting.
