The HHD Tooklit
Session Description
The HHD Toolkit session presents a variety of effective, simple, high-impact teaching strategies that can be used repeatedly across Units 1–4 to maximise student engagement and learning outcomes. The session will explore a range of scaffolded and integrated tools including retrieval practice, concept connections, think-pair-share, skill builders (especially for SACs and exams), visual organisers, exit tickets, and more! Each tool is designed to promote active, collaborative learning, develop higher-order thinking and enhance outcomes for teachers and learners by providing adaptable approaches suitable for a range of HHD topics and learning contexts! Whatever your level of HHD experience, or HHD allotment, this session is certain to have something for you!
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1) Select and implement a range of practical, high-impact HHD teaching tools to enhance student engagement, knowledge retention and application in HHD.
2) Adapt and apply tools across Units 1–4 to improve learning outcomes, build exam skills and reduce lesson preparation time.
