Transferable Drills and Minor Games for Multi-Sport Application
Session Description
Looking for practical, high-impact ideas that you can implement immediately in your PE classes? This session will provide a wide range of simple, engaging drills and minor games that are quick to set up and easily adaptable across multiple sports, helping to reduce planning time while maximising student participation.
Designed primarily around team and territory based sports, participants will explore strategies that build teamwork, communication, spatial awareness and game sense, while also supporting the development of key physical skills.
A strong emphasis will be placed on creating inclusive, high-participation learning environments where all students can experience success. Activities will range from warm-ups through to modified minor games that can be easily differentiated or adapted across year levels.
This will be a highly practical session with a strong “ready-to-use” focus, allowing teachers to walk away with a bank of versatile activities that can immediately enhance lesson delivery, increase student participation, and support quality PE outcomes across a variety of sports and settings.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, you will be able to implement a range of practical, quick-to-set-up drills and minor games that transfer across multiple sports and year levels. You will gain knowledge and receive resources that include adaptable warm-ups, drills, and modified games. These will reduce planning time, can be differentiated, and enhance student engagement while supporting quality PE outcomes across a variety of sporting contexts.
