Using a game sense approach for teaching invasion (territorial) throwing and catching games
Session Description
Come prepared for lots of action, learning and play in this practical session. Playing many small-sided invasion games, you will learn how to organise the games, develop your understanding and skills of questioning and how to structure student learning through game modifications. We will experience how students can learn tactical and technical skills, cooperation, team and problem-solving skills during invasion games. All games will have a throwing and catching theme. Suitable for both primary and secondary PE teachers.
Learning Outcomes
You will develop your skills and understanding of: (1) using small-sided invasion games, (2) questioning techniques, (3) modifying games to develop student learning outcomes, and (4) how to scaffold learning through games.
