King-Sized Sports: Reigniting minor games

Session Description

Looking for fresh ways to increase participation, provide appropriate challenge and engage every student in Physical Education? This practical, hands-on session explores how teachers can adapt and modify minor games using simple game design principles that can be applied across any PE program. Through a range of activities, progressions and challenges, participants will experience strategies that promote inclusion, maximise participation and develop game understanding. Omnikin balls will be used as one engaging example of these principles in action, with plenty of ideas that can be transferred to the equipment and resources already available in your school.

Learning Outcomes

Be able to adapt and modifiy games for engagement, understand how the equipment can be used across multiple different skills and sports.
