Inclusion in Action: Creating Sport Experiences Where Everyone Belongs
What does inclusion look and feel like from the participant’s perspective?
This practical and interactive session brings coaches and teachers together to explore how small changes to the way we communicate, connect and deliver activities can make a big difference to participation and belonging.
Co-delivered by Taneille Crase, Physical Activity Advisor at Active Education Australia, alongside athletes from Special Olympics Australia, the session will combine lived experience with practical coaching strategies. Participants will hear directly from athletes about what helps them feel welcomed, supported and included, before putting inclusive coaching approaches into practice through a series of activities and challenges.
Participants will leave with practical strategies they can apply immediately in community sport, school sport and physical education to adapt activities, respond to individual needs and create environments where more young people can participate, contribute and thrive.
