Dr Dreher is a Research Fellow in the Clinical Gerontology Division at the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) and a registered physiotherapist, working as a clinician in the aged care sector. She has a particular interest in the translation of research into practice to improve health outcomes for older people.
Dr Dreher’s research at NARI has focused on the development and implementation of sustainable approaches to support community engagement and physical activity participation at age-friendly outdoor exercise equipment (Seniors Exercise Parks). Dr Dreher has over 20 years of relevant clinical experience as a physiotherapist, including in aged care, private practice, hospital care, and rehabilitation. In her current clinical role, she supports older adults at home and in residential care to achieve their goals for health and level of function, with a focus on exercise and physical activity programs. Dr Dreher has co-authored nine recent publications focused on outdoor physical activity for older adults.
