Professor Levinger is a Senior Principal Researcher and Accredited Exercise Physiologist at the National Ageing Research Institute, with honorary appointments at the Rehabilitation Ageing and Independent Living Research Centre, Monash University, and the Institute for Health and Sport at Victoria University. With over 20 years of experience, her work focuses on active ageing, physical activity, falls prevention, and the design and implementation of age-friendly environments. She is recognised for leading research that translates evidence into practice, particularly through partnerships with local governments to deliver community-based, scalable health initiatives. Her expertise includes built environment planning, community activation, and prevention strategies that enable physical activity, social connection, and functional independence among older adults. Professor Levinger leads the ENJOY Seniors Exercise Park projects, a nationally and internationally recognised initiative supporting healthy ageing through outdoor infrastructure and community programs. Her work informs policy and practice across government and community sectors.
