Dr Mark Morgan‑Brown is an occupational therapist and researcher and the developer of the Assessment Tool for Occupational and Social Engagement (ATOSE). He developed ATOSE to address a critical gap in occupational therapy: the need for occupation‑specific, whole‑environment measures that capture both engagement and deprivation in communal care settings. His work is grounded in occupational justice and ecological theory and focuses on how environments, routines, and care practices shape participation, social connection, and wellbeing. Dr Morgan‑Brown has published widely in aged care, dementia, and mental health contexts, and his work continues to inform evidence‑based practice and service innovation internationally.
