Most recently, Joanna worked at the Australian Human Rights Commission between 2017 and 2025, including as Director of the Age Discrimination team, Director of Age Research and Director of Human Rights.
Joanna is the author of Rethink Your Career in Your 40s, 50s and 60s (HarperCollins 2017) and is now writing a book on flourishing as we age. She has maintained a longstanding focus on social justice and human rights, particularly on the rights, opportunities and challenges of older Australians.
