I am a registered nurse and just received my PhD in Nursing. For my PhD, using a mixed-method study and recruiting 280 older immigrant participants living with cardiovascular disease (CVD) from community settings, I contributed new knowledge by comprehensively exploring CVD self-care behaviours, such as heart-healthy diet adaptation, among the underserved culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) population in Australia. These findings significantly serve as a starting point for informing and developing community-based CVD self-care interventions targeting the older CALD population. My PhD work was awarded the Nursing New Investigator Poster Prize finalist at the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand Annual Scientific Meeting. I was invited to write an article on my research topic for the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association (US). During my PhD, I published eight papers, and two papers were under review (first author on 80% of these papers, 50% of papers in Q1 Journal). A paper on salt-substitute reached a wide audience through 53 TV and 33 radio interviews nationally and internationally (Altimetric 467, Top 5%).
