Robyn is a retired Registered Critical Care Nurse, and Midwife. After a successful clinical career, she returned to University. At Melbourne University she successfully completed her degree and transitioned into Education and Training, Management and Human Resources in Health Care. Her last roles were as a Management Consultant. Robyn retired a few years ago after busily juggling her family and professional life. Her eclectic interests are family, musical theatre, cookery/food, travel, antiques, museums, and barracking for the Brisbane Lions in the AFL. Her personal values of respect, dignity and justice align with Post Polio Victoria’s (PPV) values. Robyn joined the PPV Board in 2018 as a way of contributing to the better management of Post Polio Syndrome and LEoP (late effects of Polio) through PPV’s advocacy initiatives. She currently holds the position of President of PPV and continues to work to implement PPV’s vision and values for the greater good of polio survivors. Robyn also maintains an affiliation with Australian Federation. Of Disability Organisations (AFDO): Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) serving on the Older Persons Reference Group: St. Vincents Public Hospital Melbourne Board/ Community Advisory Member: Peninsula Health/Community Advisor Group for MePac; National Ageing Research Institute (NARI)/Melbourne Ageing Research Collaboration (MARC) Community Advisory Group: Monash University – Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG): Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) Victorian sub group and Latrobe Community Health Service – Community Advisor. Robyn also serves on the Federal Government Council of Elders.
