Dr Ash Smyth is a gerontological nursing researcher and Associate Professor holding the inaugural Brightwater–UWA Fellowship in Aged and Disability Care at the University of Western Australia, a unique industry-academic position embedded across one of Western Australia's largest residential aged care providers. Her research program focuses on clinical deterioration, hospital avoidance, person-centred care, and sleep health in older adults. Ash also holds the Research Director role in UWA's Department of Nursing.
