Abiola Akinbiyi is an accomplished healthcare leader, gerontologist, registered nurse, educator, and healthcare executive with over 20 years of experience across aged care, community health, workforce development, and multicultural leadership in Australia. Her work is grounded in advancing safe, dignified, and equitable ageing outcomes for older people, particularly those from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

She has held senior leadership roles in aged care spanning workforce capability, clinical education, quality improvement, and service excellence, supporting leaders and frontline teams to strengthen safeguarding practices, person-centred care, and inclusive service delivery. She brings practical expertise in the intersection of ageing, culture, vulnerability, and systems reform.

Abiola currently serves as a Board Director of North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network and Chair of its Community Council Committee, contributing to health equity and integrated care initiatives. She is the former Chairperson of Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria, former Chair of its New and Emerging Communities Policy Advisory Committee, and Chaired of the Emerging Ageing Working Group, where she championed community voice, inclusion, and culturally responsive ageing policy.

She is also the Founder of Changepreneurs, a social impact organisation empowering multicultural women and communities through leadership, mentoring, and education. A respected speaker and community advocate, Abiola has presented at many healthcare conferences nationally on dementia, culturally responsive care, workforce inclusion, and community wellbeing.

In 2025, she was inducted into the Victorian Women’s Honour Roll in recognition of her leadership and community impact.
