Kirsten has a background in psychology and sociology and a PhD in social work. She has worked in academic and government roles in research and evaluation undertaking research in dementia, palliative and aged care. She is the research and evaluation manager at the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association and leads the annual primary care nursing and midwifery workforce survey.
