Lisa is an experienced nurse working in aged care, mental health, palliative care and education for over 40 years. Lisa has extensive clinical experience in caring and supporting older adults in different settings and she is now a Lecturer at Western Sydney University. Lisa achieved her PhD in Nursing in Australia and the area of her PhD study is dementia. Lisa also has a Master’s degree in Care of Elderly People from the UK and her thesis focuses on palliative care. Lisa’s long-held passion is to improve the quality of care for older adults and their carers, especially those with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Today, Lisa is going to share with us her study in co-designed and culturally adapted dementia support program which is funded by the Strategic Innovation Program Grant from the Australian Association of Gerontology.
