Dr Medha Gunawardana (PhD) is a senior leader in Victoria’s multicultural sector with over a decade of experience advancing community strengthening, positive ageing, and culturally responsive service delivery. She currently serves as Manager – Community Strengthening at Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS), where she leads initiatives that support the wellbeing, inclusion, and independence of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Medha is a former Board Member of the Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria (ECCV) and Elder Abuse Action Australia, and chaired ECCV’s Positive Ageing and Aged Care Policy Advisory Committee, contributing to system-level policy dialogue and reform.A committed advocate for multiculturalism and social equity, Medha is deeply engaged in cultural and community development, with a particular focus on older people and newly emerging communities. Her work centres on promoting equitable access to services, strengthening community capacity, and enabling older adults from diverse backgrounds to age well, remain connected, and live independently with dignity, purpose, and hope.
