Angelique Zamora is a Registered Nurse and a PhD Candidate at The University of Queensland (UQ) School of Dentistry. Her research is on co-designing training for residential aged care staff on oral health assessments. Angelique is working with the research team of an MRFF-funded study, titled "Oral Health in Aged Care: Addressing Oral Health Inequity and Unmet Dental Care Needs in Vulnerable Populations" - 2022 MRFF Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care (MRF2024439).
Angelique is also a Clinical Lecturer in Nursing at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work (UQ) and has several years of experience in clinical teaching and course coordination. Angelique has been recognised for her excellence in teaching, receiving the Elsevier Emerging Leader in Nursing and Midwifery Education High Commendation Award in 2020 and the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work Innovation in Teaching and Learning Award in 2016.
Angelique is passionate about gerontology and deeply committed to improving the quality of care for older people. Her work is driven by a desire to create meaningful, evidence‑based change across health and social care systems. Angelique’s research interests and background include Nursing Education, Interprofessional Care, Implementation Science, Co‑design, Gerontology, Dementia Care, and Older People’s Oral Health. She is particularly motivated by opportunities to collaborate with older adults, families, clinicians, and policy makers to design care approaches that are compassionate, person‑centred, and grounded in real‑world needs.
