Welcome everyone, my name is Amelie Dean. I am a Registered Nurse from Canberra, and I am currently completing my postgraduate Honours at the University of the Sunshine Coast. My research focuses on improving gerontological nursing care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander older people. This work is both professionally and personally meaningful to me, and I would like to acknowledge my cultural connection to the Yinggarda people of the Gascoyne region in Western Australia through my Nana.
