Jiaxin is a PhD student from the Department of Psychological Medicine at the University of Auckland. Her research focuses on people living with young-onset dementia, with a particular emphasis on identifying factors associated with mortality using a biopsychosocial framework.
Young-onset dementia affects individuals in their working and family years and is associated with a heightened risk of premature mortality. However, the factors contributing to this increased risk remain poorly understood.
In this presentation, Jiaxin will present findings from a systematic review synthesising existing evidence on mortality-related determinants in young-onset dementia. The presentation highlights the complex, multi-level nature of mortality risk and identifies critical gaps to inform future research, clinical practice, and service planning.
