Dr. Sandy Pin pin Choi is Associate Dean (Global Partnership and Community Engagement) and Associate Professor at the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Nursing and Midwifery, Monash University. She is an academic leader and researcher whose work spans workforce sustainability, gerontology, healthcare policy, and international partnership development.
Her research portfolio covers nursing work environments, nursing shortages, nurse manager competencies, and workforce challenges in long term care. She has advanced understanding of acculturation, retention of imported care workers, organizational dynamics, and the integration of gerontechnology into care delivery. Across these areas, Dr. Choi’s scholarship contributes to both academic literature and policy reform, offering evidence based recommendations for organizational leaders and policymakers in health economics and service delivery.
As an educator, Dr. Choi teaches nursing research, management and administration, preparing undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students for leadership roles and policy analysis. She designs learner centered teaching materials that bridge theory with practice, equipping future healthcare professionals with the skills to navigate complex organizational and workforce challenges. She is also deeply engaged in building international academic partnerships, orchestrating collaborative initiatives and Memoranda of Understanding with institutions across Asia and beyond.
