Dinesh is the head of the GEN and Aged Care Data Unit at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW). He is the data custodian for the National Aged Care Data Clearinghouse. His team manages and operates the National Aged Care Data Asset (linked data) and the GEN Aged Care Data website. His team is also responsible for national palliative care analysis, reporting and data development, including Palliative care services in Australia and the National palliative care measures. Dinesh has worked with people-centred data at the AIHW for 14 years across a range of health and welfare subject areas, including family violence, child protection, medical and pharmaceutical benefits, mortality and diabetes. Prior to the AIHW, he worked in research and policy roles at the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing and Services Australia. Dinesh has qualifications in biostatistics and biomedical sciences.
