Biography
Rachel Scott is a highly skilled engineer specialising in Reliability Engineering and Asset Management. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics), a Bachelor of Commerce (Corporate Finance), a Master of Engineering (Reliability), a Master of Engineering Science, a Graduate Certificate in Asset Management, and a Churchill Fellowship in Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability.
Rachel began her career in 2012 as a Weapons Electrical Engineering Officer in the Royal Australian Navy, serving on ANZAC-class vessels. She specialised in reliability engineering and rose to the position of Senior Reliability Engineer for maritime Defence.
In 2020, Rachel transitioned to the civilian sector, applying her expertise across various industries, including transport, health, utilities, and Defence. Her work has significantly improved the integration of technical and financial systems in these sectors.
Currently, Rachel is the Reliability Engineering Manager for a $46 billion naval acquisition project, overseeing the development and optimisation of the project's critical RAM, logistics engineering and support system design aspects.
As Chair of Standards Australia QR-005 Dependability Committee and Australian Head of Delegation of the IEC TC56 Dependability Committee, Rachel manages the development and maintenance of 69 international and 45 Australian standards.
Rachel's role as an international liaison to the ISO TC251 Asset Management Committee further underscores her dedication to promoting excellence in asset management practices.
