Muhammad Tahir is a Lecturer at SOAS University of London and holds PhD, ACMA, and CGMA credentials. Before moving into his current role, he spent several years lecturing at Newcastle University and served as a guest teacher at the LSE. His professional background includes a decade in Karachi’s financial sector, where he conducted equity and economics research for firms including Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Indosuez W.I. Carr Securities.

Tahir’s research has been recognized internationally, earning awards from the Centre des Professions Financières and the European Doctoral Association. His academic research covers a range of topics, from earnings management and executive compensation to audit quality and sustainability. To date, his findings have been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, such as the British Accounting Review.
