Shah Md Taha Islam is a PhD job market candidate in the Department of Accounting at Monash University, working under the supervision of Professor Michaela Rankin and Dr Mehdi Khedmati. Shah was nominated by the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) to represent the prestigious organization at the European Accounting Association (EAA) Doctoral Colloquium 2025, held in Rome, Italy. He has relevant teaching and administrative experience of more than five years through working as an academic at the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, Jahangirnagar University. He has received the Dean's Letter multiple times in recognition of his outstanding teaching at Monash University. Shah is actively engaged in accounting research and publication process in esteemed accounting journals. His recent publications are in The British Accounting Review (ABDC A* | ABS 3), and the British Journal of Management (ABDC A* | ABS 4). Shah's current research interests are focused on sustainability accounting, AI and predictive analytics in sustainability, financial markets, stakeholder activism, and corporate transparency including disclosures.
