Dr Suresh Ramachandra began his career in accounting as an assistant accountant. After obtaining professional qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK, he progressed to several senior roles in the corporate sector.
He transitioned to academia in 1986 and has since taught at a number of universities in Malaysia and Singapore. Prior to joining Auckland University of Technology, he held academic positions at the University of Auckland and Manukau Institute of Technology.
Dr Ramachandra’s research focuses on financial reporting practices, with additional interests in corporate governance and its impact on firm valuation and reporting accuracy. He supervises Master’s and PhD students and currently teaches the capstone course in the Master of Professional Accounting programme.
