Biography
Dr Searat Ali’s research focuses on corporate governance, board diversity, sustainable finance, and ESG disclosure in Australian and international capital markets. His work has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Financial Markets, the British Accounting Review, the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, the British Journal of Management, and Corporate Governance: An International Review. He is the recipient of competitive research grants from organisations such as the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ), the Australian Academy of Science, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and has been awarded an internationally competitive research fellowship from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, at the level of Associate Professor. Dr Ali serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Economic Surveys and as a Grant Assessor for the Australian Research Council. He has also examined doctoral theses at both domestic and international institutions. He is strongly committed to doctoral training and responsible research practices, serving as Vice President of Communications for the International Society of Pitching Research for Responsible Science (InSPiR2eS) and as UOW Node Leader in the InSPiR2eS Centre for Responsible Science, promoting transparency and reproducibility in accounting and finance research.
