Dr Anil Narayan is a Professor and Head of the Accounting Department at Auckland University of Technology. He has a distinguished academic career and has received numerous awards recognising his excellence in teaching, research, and service leadership. His research and postgraduate supervision cover a range of interconnected fields, including public sector accounting and accountability, management accounting, sustainability accounting and reporting, and accounting education, with a focus on developing culturally responsive teaching and learning approaches. Dr Narayan has an extensive publication record in leading international refereed journals such as Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal (AAAJ), Financial Accountability & Management (FAM), Accounting History, Meditari Accountancy Research, Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal, and Pacific Accounting Review. He regularly presents his work at international conferences and serves as a peer reviewer for a variety of accounting journals. He is also a member of the Editorial Boards of AAAJ, Accounting History, Accounting Forum, and Meditari Accountancy Research.
